Stonegate Capital Management, L.L.C. is an investment manager, which specializes in the management of high yield bond portfolios for institutional investors.
Stonegate was established in 2001 by Daniel J. Charleston, Timothy P. Finn and Brian L. Hessel, CFA, three senior investment professionals who were previously responsible for managing high yield bond portfolios at J. & W. Seligman & Co. Incorporated. The three Managing Partners have more than 40 years of combined credit analysis and portfolio management experience.

Mr. Charleston co-founded Stonegate Capital Management in 2001. He holds a B.S. in Management Science from Kean University. Mr. Charleston has over 15 years of high yield investment management experience. Prior to co-founding Stonegate, Mr. Charleston was the Partner in charge of high yield investments at J. & W. Seligman & Co. Incorporated where he grew the assets from $50 million to $4 billion. At Stonegate, Mr. Charleston's primary focus is on the Gaming, Wireless Telephony, Technology and Automotive sectors. In his spare time, he enjoys instructing martial arts, advising the Kean University Foundation and playing golf. |

Mr. Finn co-founded Stonegate Capital Management in 2001. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Macalester College and a M.B.A. in Corporate Finance from New York University. Prior to co-founding Stonegate, Mr. Finn worked at J. & W. Seligman & Co. Incorporated. From 1986-1996, he managed the Seligman Valuations Division in New York, valuing hundreds of closely held and thinly traded securities. In 1996, he joined the high yield team and spearheaded the CBO effort. Mr. Finn's primary focus is on the Cable, Direct Broadcast Satellite, Publishing, and Wireless Infrastructure sectors. In his spare time, he enjoys playing squash, golfing, coaching his sons' sports teams and sailing. |

Mr. Hessel co-founded Stonegate Capital Management in 2001. He holds a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Hessel has been a CFA charter holder since 1993 and is a member of the AIMR and NYSSA. He has over 12 years of high yield investment management experience. Prior to co-founding Stonegate, he was a Partner and Portfolio Manager at J. & W. Seligman & Co. Incorporated in the high yield group. At Stonegate, Mr. Hessel's main focus is on the Chemicals, Industrials, Telecom, Healthcare, Energy and Broadcasting sectors. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, hiking and golfing. |
